Reedy Chemical Foam (i.e. Reedy International) was founded in Keyport, NJ in 1989 by Michael Reedy. Throughout his career, Michael pioneered the foaming industry in the United States by expanding on the use of chemical foaming agents to enhance the nucleation in polymers. The goal was to use endothermic chemical foam technology to reduce volatile emissions potentially created by the extruded polystyrene process. It was through the use of these benefits that broadened the scope of the chemical foam industry.

Since that time, Reedy has become the global leader in manufacturing chemical foaming agents. Reedy has continued to grow and expand its reach in many industries through its sales and marketing network, technical support team, superior customer service, and its manufacturing capabilities throughout the United States and abroad. It is Reedy’s mission to continue to build core relationships with customers by continuing to provide solutions.

Reedy has participated in several global technical talks, sponsorships, and has presented hundreds of presentations and seminars worldwide. Reedy also participated as a corresponding author of a foaming chapter in the Industrial Handbook of Industrial Polyethylene & Technology. For the last seven years, Reedy has awarded the Michael Reedy Scholarship Award to a growing polymer student within the Society of Plastics Engineers. Reedy has been an integral part of the polymer foams industry for over thirty years and has served several positions as a board of director through its dedication to community and volunteer service within the industry.
